Do your #dogs #swim in your #pool? #mahalopools encourages you to bump up your #chlorine to a minimum of 3ppm. One dog is equal to 8 humans, and they use up your #poolchemicals quickly! Call Mahalo Pools today at 602-606-2475 Some additional #helpfulhints:

“Pool Dog” Check List
1) Make sure your dog knows where the pool steps are.
2) Keep the chlorine level at least 3.0 PPM. Don’t let it drop below 1.0 PPM
3) Never allow the dog into the pool area without supervision.
4) Teach your dog to swim.
5) Clean your baskets and filter on a regular basis. If pressure decreases, clean the impeller.
6) Install a Skamper Ramp.
7) Learn doggie first aid.
8) Put a plant, or other landmark on the pool deck by the steps.
9) Provide fresh drinking water pool side.
10) Make the dog rest every few minutes. Swimming is tiring.
11) Have fun. Nothing can make a day at the pool more fun, than a happy, healthy pooch.

What you need to know about having a pool party...

Having a #poolparty? Mahalo Pools would like to give you a few hints and tips about pool care...after the party!
*more than three bodies is considered a pool party
*bodies, chemicals on bodies and clothes, what the bodies walked on before getting in the pool, etc... use all the chlorine in the water
*one dog=8 people 
*after the party, add liquid chlorine to the pool water (minimum of one gallon per 10,000 gallons of pool water)
*turn on the filter, let it run overnight (no swimming for 4 hours after the liquid chlorine is added)

Salt Systems in the Swimming Pool

How does a salt system work? The pool water contains salt (NaCl) and it passes through the salt cell and gets charged (by electrolysis) and then produces hypochlorous acid (HClO) and sodium hypochlorite (NaClO). These are sanitizing agents commonly used in swimming pools. Mahalo Pools recommends cleaning the salt cell every two months. Salt systems are helpful to those who suffer from skin conditions which benefit from the use of salt (or soft) water. Need help with your salt system?
